When I really was able to embody the knowing of my eternal nature, it truly was a red-letter day. The sense of freedom that came over me and the relief, it was incredible. There has been a knowing inside of me almost as far back as I can remember. At my grandfather?s funeral, I was 9 or 10, I can clearly remember thinking, ?This not a bad thing ... this is wonderful because Grampa is now pain-free and free of a body that was frustrating him.? Of course, I dared not speak that out loud, for my family obviously did not feel that way. Yet I somehow knew that we did not die, not our souls anyway. I really had no formal religious background, and I went on to forget this through my teens and 20s, but then I gradually began seeking my spiritual path again. I realize that no one ?really? knows what happens when our bodies cease; however, it has been my life experience that has taught me to remember the truth ? our true nature is eternal.

It wasn?t until I had been a Personal Fitness Trainer for 15 years that I really began to understand just how much ?I? could actually do for my client versus how very much depended on them becoming willing to take responsibility for their bodies. Our society has become overly dependent on the advice of others. Many of us solely rely on what we are told to do by professionals that certainly mean well and are doing the best they have been educated to suggest. However, I believe that we benefit tremendously from learning how to tune into our bodies and listen to the information it actively offers us. Our best intentions simply will not succeed unless we take an active role in the process. If not, we end up treating the symptoms, placing band-aids over secondary manifestations, only to find that problems squirt out from another area. It is crucial for us to tune in and gradually peel back the layers until we can get to the true cause. Once we have identified its root, then we are ready to consciously treat ourselves, carefully listening to the body for its feedback.

We are swiftly approaching my favorite time of the year ... summertime! I know that most people are more active during this time, from long walks at the beach, to hiking our beautiful mountains, to swimming and water parks, on to baseball games, volleyball, Frisbee and so much more. During the winter months, it is easy to slip into snuggling in with a good book and eating those heavier foods like beef stew, chili, and let?s not forget the cornbread. This cave time tends to pack on a few unwanted pounds, as well as diminish our overall physical strength and flexibility. Before you go leaping headfirst into your fun-filled summer activities, though, please remember to begin conditioning now or at least 4-6 weeks beforehand.

We are so blessed to be born into these magnificent bodies that house our miraculous brains. Truly, as a species, we are most definitely of superior capacity, due to our ability to think, reason and create solutions. Our minds are the ultimate computer systems and are by nature, extremely complex. Much research has gone into understanding the mind and how it works, and alas, there is a tremendous amount that continues to remain a mystery. Recently, some cutting edge information has been brought to light and was published by Eckhart Tolle in his latest book, The New Earth. This, in conjunction with many other teachers, authors and philosophers, points to the idea that thought is, in and of itself, a life form. In other words, going back to Einstein?s theories of energy and matter, everything is comprised of energy, and energy cannot be created nor destroyed; hence, thought is also energy. Therefore, every thought that has ever been thought, must still exist in either our consciousness or in the collective conscious. Given this, let us explore the possibility of our thoughts thinking us at times versus us thinking our thoughts.

We are, in general, captivated by ?what is.? That is to say, whatever happens to be in our immediate experience at this red-hot minute compels us to focus on it. This doesn?t seem, to most people, to be a bad thing, or even something to give a second thought to; however, this NOW moment is where all your power resides and so it matters ... it matters a lot. Your focus is everything. In fact, it is creating your point of attraction. That means that whatever you are thinking about predominantly signals Law of Attraction to begin drawing ?like unto like.? In other words, your thoughts are acting like a magnet and are pulling people, events, relationships and much more to you to match what you have going on vibrationally. That is why the old adage, ? what you resist, persists? is so true.
