 <title>Waste no more time…</title>

<description><![CDATA[The energy of the planet is rapidly increasing and it, along with our divine impulses, continue to thrust us all forward into a new/ancient awareness…we are ONE! Global unity is emerging out of 2012 and will absolutely remain the tone that vibrates through 2013 and beyond. There is no longer time to dabble around in old programming or old conditioning that wants us to believe in separation. Sure we are all different colors, shapes and sizes and we come from a deliciously diverse number of cultures but that will never again be reason to maintain attitudes of better or worse, higher or lower and good and bad. No, our diversity is a gift and a blessing to all who inhabit this planet. In the immortal words of John Lennon, “Live and let live!” and we must if we are to survive and so it must be.<br />
<br />
There is no longer time to waste with such frivolities for our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health will be what will pay the price if we so choose. The body can only follow the direction of the heart and mind and when there is discourse, disease ensues. All, and I do mean all the problems we experience have at their root an emotion cause, every time without exception. The human apparatus is designed to thrive and has miraculous mechanisms in place for maintaining health and harmony but it can only do so if allowed to live in a loving, peaceful and compassionate environment. If the mind is consumed with creating an atmosphere of anger, fear, anxiety and despair the body has no choice but to reflect this. Now more than ever before in history is this becoming evident due to the increase in energetic fields both within us and around us. The speed at which our mental atmosphere translates into physical disease is exponential and this is not going to do anything but gain momentum from here. <br />
<br />
We have always had the freedom to choose our thoughts and therefore create healthy, vibrant bodies but many of us have become lost in our programming and have forgotten just how powerful we actually are. It is my quest to help us as many people as possible remember the truth of whom they are and, that they have and always will have, free-will to choose. Taking full and complete responsibility for our thoughts, our health, our actions and our deeds is the path to true happiness, harmony and incredible well-being on all levels. It can seem a little scary at first but once it becomes clear that with responsibility comes empowerment, than the taste of freedom that that brings will inspire and carry us through. We were never meant to be autotons, “Ike Mike look alike,” marching, marching and following, following. We are all unique, brilliant, genius creators who in our own right are here to create our own personal Universes exactly as we choose. That means as each of us remembers that we are of one global family, all made from the same ‘God stuff’ and treats themselves and all others with the love and respect we all deserve…ahhhhh life is and will continue to be exquisite, only on a grander and grander scale.<br />
<br />
Your body is your temple and should you wish to enjoy a wonderful healthy body, living a long life full of joy and contribution, well, it’s up to you. Focus your attention on those things that uplift you, that serve others, that bring your heart joy. Decide today to stop feeding the fire of fear by turning off the news and by reading happy stories instead of newspapers full of gloom and doom. Be the conscious chooser and deliberate creator you came forth to be and watch your life bloom in beautiful and extraordinary ways. Give it your best effort for 30 days and prove it to yourself that way you can be a living example of how it feels to be a joyous, healthy, vibrant person. By simply living your life this way you will model happiness to your family and friends who may ask you what you did to have such a life. When we are all actively doing this we will see our entire world transformed…heaven on Erath will finally be our Reality. Happy mind, body and spirit well-being to all…love and joy truly abound.  <br />

 <title>We Are Always At Choice!</title>

<description><![CDATA[We have been given the capacity to be one with All That Is and yet we are prone to forgetting this. When we choose to be aware, conscious of our thoughts we can then begin to feel our way back to alignment. It is quite simple to feel whether we are thinking thoughts that serve our highest good or whether we are running old limiting programming. Many of us were raised to live our lives in fear, worry and doubt but this is not who we are really are. <br />
<br />
For several generations humans have been moving further and further away from the truth of their being. This was perfect in that we needed to experience the pain of separation in order to revel in our return to wholeness. Now, with the global shift in full swing, learning to pay attention to our feelings is the fastest way back to our connection to Source. When we can notice that we are feeling any type of negative emotion it is clear guidance that we entertaining thoughts that are in opposition to our Higher Self. The work is to soften those thoughts that pull us out of alignment, to broaden our perspective and do our best to see the situation through the eyes of Source. It is ever so helpful to return over and over again to the truth. Everything that occurs in our lives is ALWAYS for our highest and best without exception…this is the meaning of trust. <br />
<br />
It is important to be gentle and patient with ourselves as we navigate a new and healthier path. We will find ourselves slipping back into the old familiar programming and so to gently say, “Oops, there I go again, that is not where I choose to focus my attention any longer,” is a kind and effective technique. Then, let it go and reach for thoughts that feel somewhat better. This can seem tedious in the beginning but in a very short amount of time you will be spending much less time there and much more time unified with Source.<br />
 <br />
Spend as much time as possible in gratitude, aware of how much good there truly is in the world, in your life and that is available us. Make lists either physically and mentally of all the many blessings you already have, regardless of how large or small. Appreciation and love are two of the fastest avenues into alignment and we are always capable of shifting our perspective if we so choose to do so. Free will and the power of choice are the greatest gifts we were given but we must remain conscious, focused and open in order to enjoy the gifts of peace, harmony and happiness that are our birth right. Living an awakened, focused life is nothing short of miraculous and will thrill you in ways that you could never imagine however, we are the ones who have complete control and taking responsibility for our thoughts, choices and focus creates the path to bliss. As Deepak Chopra teaches, we are pure awareness, pure consciousness and pure bliss when we choose to release ourselves from limiting beliefs and live our lives striving for alignment. May these words sooth you, assist you and bring you closer to your highest self. <br />

 <title>What will it take to realize…Life IS GOOD?</title>

<description><![CDATA[It is a very interesting thing…why is it many people move through their lives worried, fearful and unhappy? We somehow lose sight of the fact life is supposed to be fun and this is not a dress rehearsal. We really needn’t take it so seriously and if we relax more and worry less, we suddenly gain a new perspective and life becomes pretty darn sweet. It is my theory that American’s have bought into a lifestyle that literally ‘drives’ them to work themselves to the point of exhaustion, only to become sick or disabled, all in the name of striving for the so called American dream. What if we already are living the dream? There are very few countries in the world that live at the economic level most of us live and yet we are not satisfied. That is sheer madness.<br />
       <br />
I wake up every day and thank God for all the blessings in my life, for another day to be alive and to love and play on this magnificent earth. Are there things I still want? Of course, but I refuse to postpone my joy until they arrive. Life is meant to be LIVED not existed through. Yes, we all get overwhelmed at times, too busy to stop and smell the roses but, let us make it a point to stop often enough, to catch ourselves before it goes on too long. Otherwise, we may wake up one sad day and realize that much of life has pasted us by and we still haven’t had any fun yet…a very sad day in deed.<br />
        <br />
I am on a quest to laugh more and worry less, to appreciate more and criticize less, to compliment more and belittle less, to look for reasons to smile and turn my attention away from those things that feel bad, to give more and expect to receive less and to love every chance I get even those people who are hard to love. If I spend my days doing these things by bed time my heart is full of joy and gratitude and I can say, “This has been a very good day.” As days such as these add up, life is genuinely sweet, satisfying and truly full. <br />
       <br />
The only reason anybody ever yearns for anything is because they believe that in the having of it, they will feel good, be happy and/or fulfilled. The truth is that feeling good/happy/fulfilled is an inside job and one that can only be achieved through choosing to be so. Yes, happiness is a choice, a decision and is solely based in one’s perception. Therefore, anyone can be happy anytime anywhere if they make their minds to be.   <br />
       <br />
That’s right, happiness has virtually nothing to do with finances, possessions, power, prestige, intellect or beauty. It is, on the other hand, a state of being we were all born with, a divine and innate awareness. As we grow into adults many of us lose this awareness, we become blinded by the pursuit of happiness mistaken as, an endless endeavor to gather and work for more and more ‘stuff.’ I have known far too many miserable wealthy people to know that money does not buy happiness. Please don’t misunderstand me however, there is absolutely nothing wrong with money and all that it affords but joy, peace and love are far more precious, cost nothing and can only come from within.<br />
       <br />
So, today IS the first day of the rest of your life and the question is, “Are you going to be happy now or keep putting it off?” I choose to be happy right here and now and I do so through recognizing how blessed I am, to look for ways to give and to remember life is meant to be enjoyed not someday but now. Be gentle with yourself and others and give thanks for all that is already yours…surely there will be even more to appreciate tomorrow. Happy mind, body and spirit fitness to all.<br />

 <title>When Do We Reach Contentment?</title>

<description><![CDATA[Most of our lives are spent striving for some ‘thing’, be it a certain career, the perfect intimate relationship, financial security, optimal body weight, our dream home, an exotic vacation, retirement and regardless of what we aspire to, the actual goal is always contentment. We believe that once we reach this carrot that dangles ‘out there’, we will then, at long last, be happy. We have all seen the bumper sticker that reads, “Don’t postpone joy!” however, we all seem to put it off and the question begging to be asked is, “When oh when do I get to be ‘happy’?<br />
         <br />
I believe one of the greatest challenges of my life has been this, the quest for consistent, dependable joy and I know I am not alone. Recently I made a discovery about myself that may seem rather unimportant but it is making all the difference in the world for me and just may for you as well. I realized I have control over my perspective and the way I choose to view my world, people, and my circumstances which, IS A VERY BIG DEAL!!! Another cliche that comes to mind is, “Attitude is everything” and yes, it really is EVERYTHING. The real bottom line here is that we are, every single minute of every single day, at choice to think positively/optimistically or negatively/pessimistically. Much, if not the majority of our thinking is habitual/unconscious so, ask yourself, “What habit am I in?” If you feel happy, excited and eager most every day when you wake up and as you move through your day, well, consider yourself an optimist and connected to your Creator. H.P. (Higher Power) is ALWAYS content…”It is good and very good!” Creator knows that everything has purpose and knows everything always works out for the highest and best…always!!! On the other hand, if you wake up wishing you could just stay in bed and pull the covers over your head, I’m afraid you are in the habit of pessimism and you perceive yourself as disconnected from Source, a victim. Becoming aware of how you ‘feel’ the majority of the time is step #1 toward making a change and you are the only one who has the power to improve your outlook. It really is an inside job and sure, you will feel momentary elation upon receiving something ‘out there’ but soon it will fade away and you will return to the carrot chase once again. And why do you? Because somewhere deep within you, you know you are supposed to be happy, you do. It keeps coming up and pushing you to somehow find your way. The bad news is there is nothing ‘out there’ that will permanently make you happy once and for all. The good news is you can choose to be happy where you are right now. Whenever you decide, really make up your mind, that feeling good is more important than absolutely anything else THAN you are on your way. It’s more important than stuff, than being right, than prestige, power and glory. And the craziest part of all is that often all those things will come once you have given up the fight. <br />
      <br />
You were born innately worthy, connected to the most ingenious, powerful, abundant and benevolent Creator possible which you have excess to any time. So, the ‘real’ revelation is that within each of us is a direct line to everything we have falsely believed needs to come from outside of us and in fact, it can’t. Happiness comes when we choose to believe in a Power greater then ourselves and we allow IT to flow through us, as it does all of its creation, co-creating joyous living. Yes, choosing to see the glass half full is huge but so is KNOWING you are loved, guided and supported with every step you take. Start today to choose to have faith and at first it may be, ‘fake it till you make it’ and that’s perfectly fine. Start by admiring the sunrise, the immense beauty that spring is providing all around you and ask yourself, “How can I not believe that I am supported when all of nature is held season to season…magnificently?” Of course the Creator of all life treasures Its creation and is available to assist it along its way, when ‘allowed’ to do so. We get in our own way by forgetting and choosing to think ‘little me’ has to do, find and make everything happen for myself. Big mistake. When we trust in the Power that create Universes, now we are turbo charged and inspiration comes, the next right step reveals itself and the phone rings at just the right moment and on and on. <br />
        <br />
The time is now to be happy and when we decide that nothing is more important than the way we feel we are guided toward our dreams. The moment you start to feel badly stop, re-evaluate what you have been focused on because you are being shown that you are heading in a direction Creator would not go. You are either choosing negative thinking or negative action. Stop, breathe and make a different choice. Remember your happiness is depending on you making better choices and changing negative patterns into positive ones. Besides, what is better than feeling good most of the time and YOU are definitely worth the effort. Blessings all around you and may you find your happiness within. <br />

 <title>Remember To Schedule Yourself Into Uour Planner</title>

       I have been noticing, once again, that chores, work, and necessary family obligations and now, with spring in full force, yard, garden and sprucing demands, ‘I’ have fallen way, way down on my priority list. I don’t know about you but I can manage to cruise along for a few weeks, busy as all get out and then suddenly I am ‘ill.’ Not physically ill, although if I ignore my needs for too long the Universe will shut me down with a sickness of sorts. No, what I mean is I become crabby, irritable and short fused, which really is not who I am. That’s when I usually realize I’m in need of some peace and quiet, some soaking in a hot tub, a nice long walk in the woods or a hour of drinking up some sun in the back yard. The problem is I schedule myself into a tight box and there isn’t any wiggle room for ‘me’. This dilemma is no ones’ fault but you know who, myself.<br />
<br />
       So, then the question is, “Why do I continue to do this to myself over and over again?” I have repeated this pattern in my life for decades. Why don’t I learn? I believe it goes way back to my childhood as it does for most of us women. I bet if you have a similar tendency that your Mom was very much like mine. My dear Mother was go, go, go and fall into bed and get up and do it all over again. She never did anything just for herself and I got the message loud and clear that EVERYONE and EVERYTHING is more important than us (meaning her and me). By the way, she was famous for being the ‘witch’ of our neighborhood…no big surprise there. She absolutely did the very best she knew how to do but who can teach what they have not been taught? Intellectually I can both see and understand the origin of this self-defeating behavior however, putting a permenant stop to it has been quite another story.<br />
<br />
        Recently a friend and I were talking about this exact thing and we stumbled upon what might be a solution. Awareness is always the first and most important step to changing any habit but how to notice before the beast has been awoken? Asking for help from my angels, guides and most importantly Source. DUH!!! Sometimes it takes a while, and this time it’s been 30 years in the making but eventually I remember the thing that always works…H.P. (Higher Power. It may sound like I am some kind of holy-roller here, but the truth is we are spiritual beings having a human experience and that means that the greater, wiser more accepting part of ourselves (H.P.) is available to assist us at any given time. There is one hitch though. We have to ‘ask’ because part of the deal with scoring a life as a human was that we were given ‘free will.’ There is never and will never be anything imposed on us…it goes against the Laws of the Universe. That means we choose everything in our experience whether we are conscious of it or not. Darn it! So, remembering to ask, in my opinion, is like creating any other positive habit, it needs to be linked to a daily or multi-daily task. That way we can remember to do it. For instance, I practice my balance by standing on one foot while I brush my teeth each night, 30 seconds on each foot, alternating feet, until my electric tooth brush cues me 2 minutes has past. Sounds silly but balance is something that we lose if we don’t practice it so, I linked it to brushing my teeth. I also believe we need at least ½ ounce of water per pound of body weight each day for optimal, healthy hydration. For me that means I need 85 ounces each day. There is nothing more important then breathing and water as far as humans go. So, I have decided to link a short affirmation/prayer to my ritual of drinking water throughout the day. It goes like this, “Source, I am open and available to your reminding me to take good care of myself. Help me to love and nurture myself as you would love and nurture me. Thank you.” That’s it. I usually drink water on the average of 7-9 times a day so I figure in a month or less, Source and I will have made a significant shift transforming this old, damaging habit into one of self-appreciation. I realize old habits are often stubborn to change which is why I purposely chose to link the affirmation to something I will be doing a lot of. I truly believe this will work for me and I hope I have given you an idea to experiment with as well. <br />
<br />
       We are eternal works in progress and always will be…there simply is no done and that is a good thing. For that is what puts the eternal in eternity. Remember you are an amazing creator and the one thing you are most here to create is YOU! As free-will beings we are always at choice so take heart and know that you have the power to create yourself in any likeness you wish. It may take some conscious effort and a whole lot of help from the powers that be but there is never any shame in asking the ONE for a leg up.  <title>Why not go for it?</title>

<description><![CDATA[       It has been a long time coming but I have, at long last, come to fully BELIEVE our time has come! There simply is really nothing to lose once you remember you are an eternal being here to assist in the expansion of consciousness. Our paths are each extremely unique, as are the gifts we have to offer and diversity is a beautiful aspect to this life. When we can appreciate the diversity for the comparison and contrast it offers, we move into acceptance. Blessed acceptance frees everyone to BE whom and what they are. Releasing judgment is THE most liberating choice any of us can make. It is easy to forget as we get caught up in our daily routines but by regularly taking a long deep breath, pulling back a ways and choosing to recognize the well-being that is constantly surrounding, holding, nurturing and sustaining everything; goodness simply abounds! I suppose it is easiest to become aware of this in the springtime when life is literally bursting out all over however, life is fully present and showing itself in every moment when we slow down long enough to notice.<br />
<br />
       So, what is preventing you from fully expressing yourself, from being all you came forth to be? It doesn’t have to be anything grand, in fact you may very well be doing that which you are here to do at this very moment and yet, you may feel unfulfilled. What if you are exactly where you are supposed to be and didn’t know it? If we spend all our time reaching out into some imaginary future where, when we ‘someday’ arrive, we will be happy…life is wasted and unappreciated. Did you know that happiness and peace are to two main reasons anyone ever does anything…they believe that__________ it will ‘make’ them happy. In truth, happiness is available to us right here and now…it’s a choice. Okay, then what is it that you haven’t believed you are actually capable of doing, having, being? Hog wash!!! You are powerful beyond measure and the only thing stopping you is you…the thoughts you continually play between your ears. STOP IT! You must wake up and you must know. The world is waiting, no, it is in need of whatever you have within you to bring forth. Please stop playing it small and get on with whatever it is you truly desire. There is no time like the present and this particular point in time is poised and ready for all of us to take that leap of faith and ‘go for it!”<br />
<br />
       Begin each day by stating out loud, “Today I am ready to bring forth my unique gifts!” “I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by being the best me I can be.” “I choose love and release all fear!” Repeat these truths throughout your day, put them up on post it notes in your car, on your bathroom mirror, on your refrigerator… everywhere. When the fear comes up, laugh at yourself for having believed all this time that ‘it’ had any power over you…it doesn’t…only the power you give it. Know and know you know that life is, always has been and always will be on your side, supporting and sustaining you every step you take. Be kind to yourself and all others and keep choosing love moment to moment no matter what tries to pull you off course. You are bigger, more powerful and wiser then you often remember…but you are and can be whenever you choose. The same is true of everyone so honor each person for the path they are on and know that by modeling the truth you give them permission to remember their own. Allow yourself to go for the gusto shinning your light brightly so as everyone, including yourself have the eyes to see. May you choose the highest and best, moment by moment, allowing yourself to truly LIVE!!!<br />

 <title>We Are Powerful Beings...</title>

<description><![CDATA[..we have simply forgotten this.<br />
       <br />
We came forth into our bodies clear, awake, conscious and fully connected to our Source. We were powerful and commanded everyone’s undivided attention. As time went by we lost our way, conditioning, programming and a need to conform threw us into a deep state of amnesia. Many of us remained there for decades unaware of our truth. We are free will beings gifted with an outstanding guidance system (our emotions) capable of incredible success, fulfillment and contribution. Finally, there came a point when we asked ourselves, “Is this all there is…work, sleep, survival, existence?” “Where’s the joy, when do I get to have fun and be happy?” Fortunately, if we were open and seeking truth, we discovered a ’God spark’ deep within our hearts and began to remember who we really are. This is what happened to me and what has brought me to my present endeavor. As a born teacher, one who loves to inspire and uplift, I am now guided to teach what I most needed to learn…empowerment.<br />
       <br />
The question begging to be asked is, “How does one go about regaining their power and what does it mean to be empowered?” It, like most things, is a process and there really is no right or wrong way to approach it. My experience was to begin by tuning in, taking time for inner reflection, quiet time/meditation and asked myself a couple simple but difficult questions. First, “What do I REALLY want?” To my surprise the first 5-8 things I came up with were deflections, superficial, fairly insignificant and upon deeper contemplation, discarded and I continued digging. What most people finally get to, shockingly, is that a state of being is what they want. Not a person, place or thing. Most of us simply want to be at peace, happy and serene. With initial review, one might think well, that’s easy enough but if it were, wouldn’t everyone be joyous and free? The second question I asked was, “Do I have a conscious, intimate relationship with my Higher Power?” I thought I did but when I looked at this critically, I realized I was just giving it lip service. I wasn’t connecting on a heart level daily, hourly, moment to moment with Source, no instead, I was doing some quick, “Pleases and Thank you’s, a couple minutes of prayer work,” and then I was off with my day never giving IT another thought. After all, we are spiritual beings having a human experience and as such we are primarily vibrational and energetic by nature. It stands to reason that if we are buzzing through life like little autotons, unconscious, disconnected, we are reacting to life out of subconscious programming rather than responding. It’s easy to see how we would ultimately feel unsatisfied and dead inside. <br />
       <br />
The pathway back to the joy filled, confident, enthusiastic way of being, re: empowerment, which is usually left behind with your youth, is a path of remembering. Innately you ‘know’ who and what you are but it can take some effort to uncover it from beneath all the conditioning and lies, and limiting beliefs. Journaling is an excellent tool and even if you just write couple sentences each day, you will find yourself wending your way back to your truth. You will soon discover beliefs that you have long ago out grew and once you are aware of them, you can let them go replacing them with the truth for you. Next, delve into your imagination and allow yourself to day dream and explore creative outlets. Paint, draw, play with clay, bead or anything that takes you out of your left brain and gives you the opportunity to strengthen your right brain activity. Research has proven that Monks and other people with extensive meditation practices spend the majority of their time functioning out of their right hemisphere. This is where we can excess thoughts and feelings of our oneness, our connectedness and our sense of belonging. Learning to develop that side of our brains creates an easy excess route to our Higher Power. Meditation is also designed to quiet the left hemisphere and settle us down enough to hear our inner guidance. Truly, your heart will always accurately guide you as you take time to check in and feel your way. Less thinking and more feeling…this will help tremendously.<br />

Take out your daily planner and block out time for YOU!!! This is key to regaining your power…you have to matter to you; you must become a priority and remember how to feel worthy. Write in time for spiritual practices, meditation, journaling, creative endeavors, relaxation (time to just ‘BE’ like candle lit bubble baths). Chances are there is very little if any of this going on for you and if you don’t decide to plan, do the work and the self-care, frankly, no one is going to provide it for you. No one can actually do this for us; we must choose to do this work for ourselves. Remember, the goal is empowerment, inner peace and an overall sense of well-being. These can not only be accomplished but it will bring you back to the truth of you. When you are tuned in, tapped in and turned on, living from your truth, following your heart, life is wondrous, exciting and an amazing journey. <br />

 <title>What is and how do we achieve optimal health?</title>

        From a Personal Trainer perspective optimal health is about having a healthy, strong, energetic and capable physical body but many of us Trainers have come to realize this is a seriously inadequate description. Humans are complex creatures who, in my humble opinion, need to ‘feel’ and ‘think’ healthy, as well as, cultivate and maintain a spiritual connection in order to enjoy optimal health. A body, mind and spirit approach to well-being has been my strategy for many, many years and has been the only formula I found for true success. The question than is, “ How does one go about achieving optimal health when there is so much to take into consideration?” Answer, “Chunk it down and create a plan and work the plan.”<br />
        I like to break it down into the above three categories beginning with ‘mind.’ Starting here is important because with each thought we think, good, bad or indifferent, affects the body and spirit. Tied into our thoughts in a kind of boondoggle are our emotions. The feelings we experience are directly linked to the thoughts we are consciously or unconsciously thinking. This can be tricky to sort out but the good news is it can be made pretty simple. Does the thought you are thinking feel good or does it make you feel bad? Honestly, if you pay attention to how you are feeling, you will be able to identify the corresponding thoughts. Once the connection has been made you can then make a conscious choice to continue those thoughts or choose to focus elsewhere. Without exception every client who has ever come to me with specific fitness goals, they all had one and only one real goal, to feel happy. In fact, my belief is that we only ever have one reason for doing anything; we believe or at least hope it will make us happy. Happiness truly is an inside job though and it can be anyone’s experience right now if they stop and direct their thoughts to something slightly more pleasant. Depending on just how deeply negative you have become on each subject as it arises, depends on how long it will take to turn yourself around. One thing is for sure, no one can leap from pessimism to joy; it simply defies law. We can gradually, continuously reach for thoughts that feel somewhat better though until after some time we are in fact, in a better, more positive place. This can sound too easy or too good to be true but if you give it a try you will see how this works. Making happiness last…now that’s quite different and takes clear desire, conscious choice, practice and determination. The point is, our minds have an enormous impact on our physical health and so it is crucial to entertain thoughts that best serve us. Step one. Become willing to watch your thoughts. Just watch and notice the general attitude that you run most of the time. How does it make you feel? Is it optimistic or negative? Are you looking for solutions or dwelling on the problems? It all boils down to choice. We are powerful beings and yet we forget that our minds and our thoughts are ours to control, choose and carefully select. We are always at choice moment to moment, day in and day out and we can change our attitude by choosing to care about how we feel. By feeling good most of the time our bodies function much better and the chemical/hormonal production becomes one of health and ease verses distress, toxicity and corrosion. I don’t know about you but it makes sense to want to feel good no matter what the cost. In other words, if it means admitting I’m wrong, agreeing to disagree, well, that’s okay particularly when I remember that approach contributes to my wellness instead of my illness. Step two, practice, practice, practice. <br />
       The next article will tackle the category ‘body’ and the one after that, ‘spirit’. That way I can give more information and focus more in depth than if I were to attempt to jam it all into one article. Thank you for you continued interest.  <title>What is “The Awakening” all about?</title>

<description><![CDATA[      Many of us have been hearing about a shift that is taking place on our planet, the so called end of an era and the beginning of a new way of being. With the Mayan calendar ending in 2012 it has been said that life as we know it would end. There are a great number of people who believe we are facing “the end times” or an apocalypse but that is not my belief. I do think humanity is embarking on a new way of ‘being’ human with one another though. It has become very apparent that we cannot continue along the same lines and survive as a species therefore, something  has to change. The days of “me, myself and I” are what is transitioning into “us, we and everyone”<br />
       The greed, selfishness and lack of compassion that has had the world by the throat is at last weakening its hold on humanity and THAT is a large piece of the awakening. IT actually is not releasing its grip willingly however; we are making it do so. We (the people) can no longer stand idly by and watch while 7/8 of the world’s population suffers needlessly. We have pulled our heads out of our daily grind long enough now that we can clearly see we are being used as pones in a deadly game where none of ‘us’ win. “They’ on the other hand, those large corporate families that have had us believing for decades that they had our best interests at heart, have nothing of the sort. What they do is their business however, we too can also choose and, many of us are choosing to no longer play their heartless game. The people want ‘all’ of us to thrive and frankly, with all the wealth and resources available on this magnificent planet, there simply is no reason why that cannot be our NEW reality. Thankfully, we still have our freedom and that means we can make choices every day that take the power away from those ‘in power’ and give it back to the people.  Start today becoming very conscious as to what you support via what bank you choose, what fuel you buy, what foods you purchases and list goes on. The more we can pool our resources into the ‘local’, small town businesses and the more we can grow our own foods or buy from our local farmers, the more we can stop feeding into supporting ‘the grid’, the better for us and the worse for them. Mind you, I wish the powers that be no ill-will; trust me, they will forever be fine, I just believe it is high time that they stop growing fat at our demise.<br />
     An even larger and much more important piece of the awakening is the role each of us plays on an individual level. Making peace with ourselves and our many aspects, this needs to be priority one. Awakening to all the diverse parts of ourselves, getting to know them and ultimately accepting and loving them; this is the work which is crucial and needs precedence. As we truly learn to forgive, love and release judgment within ourselves, we are then free to expand that out into our families, communities, countries and the world. THIS work is where each of us can genuinely make a difference right NOW. <br />
       Regardless of what faith you follow, which spiritual path you walk or if you walk one at all, this is irrelevant. Choosing to love yourself unconditionally (under any and all conditions) and those in your immediate world is a practice that is long overdue and that I believe is finally arriving on our planet. THAT is the shift  which has begun and we are all here to participate, contribute and expand along with it…or not. As always, we are free will beings that are at choice in every moment of every day with every thought we think, action and choice we make, we impact ourselves and all that we touch. We are born lovers who have simply become lost, overwhelmed, complacent or whatever but as we re-awaken/ remember and begin to BE who we came forth to be, harmony, peace and well-being will also return and not just too a infinitesimal few, but to us all!  <title>Research from 2011 is in… Exercise improves and lengthens our lives!</title>

<description><![CDATA[After recently reading several articles printed in my trainer journals the evidence is overwhelming…our lives, quality and longevity, are directly affected by the amount of regular exercise we do. We have suspected this for ions but finally the documentation is here to support those theories. Many studies were conducted last year on rats and humans that showed, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the positive effects of exercise. So, what exactly did the studies show?<br />
<br />
First and foremost, the obvious outward symptoms of aging where dramatically slowed, in some studies, halted completely. Muscle loss, neuron size and function, hair loss, greying, and gonad shrinkage were all positively impacted or abated. The heart and other major organs size and function were improved, cognitive acuity increased, just to mention a few of the markers. It was so obvious and undeniable that it really is insane of us to not jump into our running shoes and head to the gym daily. Ah but the truth is, even with this information being broadcast on all levels and in all forms of media people will, for the most part, continue to be sedentary. I ask myself regularly, “What will it take to inspire people into taking responsibility for their health?” I do not have an answer yet however, I strive to find one. Actually there are probably multiple answers to that question but I think it comes down to one of two.<br />

My best guess boils is, ‘old habits really do die hard.’ We humans get into routines and to break free it usually takes something really major shaking us to the core. Heart attacks are a good example, along with cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure diagnoses. Often though, even these things are not  enough. A new habit takes 30-90 days of regularity to become ingrained and most people give up long before the new habit takes hold. In fact, most simple resign themselves to the plight and begin a drug regiment choosing to remain the victim; which brings me to the second suspected reason…passivity. Yes, its work and it requires a conscious decision to be proactive and most of all, to love and honor ourselves enough to care. Later, tomorrow, next week are all forms of procrastination, denial, rationalization, victimhood and are all the enemy. Our society has become comfortable blaming things outside of ourselves for everything, even our own well-being. The cat is now out of the bag and the time has come to wake up and smell the coffee.<br />

My life, my job! This is the wake-up call necessary to make my existence the best that I can. That is the message we need to hear, accept and embody this year and if not now, than when? Everyone is in charge of their own destiny and it simply cannot be ignored any longer. I plan to be a vital, contributing member of my community when I am 80, 90 and even 100 years old but if that dream is to be my reality I have to be willing to do what it takes AND I am. The question is, “Are you?” I advise everyone to take a hard look at the choices that they are making when it comes to food, exercise, daily water intake, quantity of sleep and time allotted to spiritual and recreational endeavors. This human body and life came with a price and that price is responsibility. Decide today that you are going to start with small improvements in all these major areas of your life. Add 5 minutes of walking a day, one more piece of fruit, one more 8 oz. glass of water, 15 minutes more sleep, 5 minutes of meditation and 15 minutes of an activity each week that you find relaxing and creative. Small steps consistently over time add up to an entire new way of living, feeling and experiencing your life. The joy and peace that is your birth right will come back and you will feel your renewed sense of empowerment. We came forth to be creative, joyous beings and to live long and vital lives but our bodies, minds and spirits must be cared for and tended to regularly. Be the good steward of yourself and watch your life transform around you, as well as, around the lives of your families for they will ‘get it’ through your example. Make 2012 the year you reclaim your personal power and take charge of your health and I promise 2013 and years to come will be lived with vitality and optimism.
